I normally LOVE funny commercials or some that have jingles to them because they are cute and get stuck in my head. My favorite commercials happen to be candy/gum commercials. The first is the starbust commercial with the man that dances singing "berries and cream" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYX_zhlTDr8). I like this commercial because its very random and silly. My next favorite is the skittles commercial when everything the man touches turns into skittles. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fojrw_vU0k8) Another one of my favorite commercials is the stride gum commercials where they make people spit out their gum because they have been chewing them too long due to "long lasting flavor" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojgi16des-U). I think using humor makes you remember the commercial and also makes you think positive things when you are shopping and happen to see the item. Many commercials that have jingles such as the free credit report (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8Dgu--CzGw) commecial is not relevant to my life now but it helps with brand recognition because if it every became relevant then they would be the first company that i would think of.
Commercials that i hate tend to be dramatic and sad or have actors in the commercials that i do not like. One company commercials that i hate the most are the Allstate commercials. Everything about the mans voice in them irritate me and i do not like his personality from shows that he have played in. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh8WbyQFvk0&feature=related). Also other commercials that i don't like that use sadness is the new Sarah McLachlan commercial that ask you to help animals (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EYocy_DN60&feature=related) and the commercials about helping children that are in different countries (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbGvBcpFt8c&feature=related). Some people may enjoy commercials that use sadness and fear becasue it might actually encourage their participation through donations or encourage them to use the product but they personally turn me away.
